Liberty Elementary School Reviews

Liberty is a fantastic elementary school. All of the teachers are caring and really put an effort forth to make sure that your child(ren) understands the concepts of their subjects. Even the office staff gets to know your student and helps them in their education.

My dd attends Liberty K-5. We moved from SF Bay Area because my husband took a faculty position at Carnegie Mellon University. Initially people scared me about Pgh public schools. So we enrolled her in a very good private school . The very good private school was sooo bad: gender bias, bad teachers So we enrolled her at Liberty. We are very happy with this school. The population is diverse as many families come from Pitt or CMU. The teachers are very good. The school has a very good after-school program (LEDP). Also, kids are encouraged to apply for the (very good) PPS gifted program (once a week) My dd is very happy. She is in chess club. She loves math. There is a rather small group of parents that are very involved with the school. The one thing I have to say negative is that the secretaries in the office are rude.

I attended this school for 2 years and I loved it. It's very diverse and i made fiends from all over the world. The way the teachers taught was fun and one was able to understand. I remember a lady there her name was mrs. queen she once said to me and my friends problems are fixed with lips not fists. I have remembered it till now. I think this will be a great beginning and unforgettable ending for any child who attends this marvelous school.

What's uncommon about the school is the high ratio of quality male teachers in the upper grades. It is an extremely positive and beneficial feature a for young boys and girls development. msbroad
