This colored pencil 18 x 24" drawing represents my vision of the Egyptian Sun God Ra who was symbolized by a falcon with the sun on its head surrounded by a cobra, and by a scarab rolling the sun before him like a ball of dung. Re was said to have created mankind from his tears, a symbolic birth, for humankind, with its deceit, wickedness and violence.
