Thanks for your interest in my mosaics!  I earned my BS degree with honors in Interior Design at Michigan State University. Post graduate, I have studied art at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA, The Sweetwater Art Center and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. 

I've had careers in both Interior Design and Graphic Design.  I'm currently studying photography and have been working in mosaics for about six years now. While more difficult, I prefer the style, challenge and uniqueness of piqueassiette, which incorporates the use of broken china, pottery and found objects as tesserae. This allows me to embody a lot of humor, surprise and whimsy in my work.  And that fortunately is consistent with my personality.  Maybe I've become a "crack pot," but I must say that breaking dishes can be very therapeutic!

It can also be very gratifying to recycle memories for people who have suffered mishaps with pieces dear to their hearts.  (e.g. I have created picture frames from irreplaceable family heirlooms.)  Others may just wish to see old items re-purposed and given new life.  I definitely recycle!
